Beaufort SVP selected as board president of the Association of Medical Diagnostics Manufacturers
Karin Hughes, Ph.D., Beaufort’s Senior Vice President, Global Regulatory and Quality, was recently appointed president of Association of Medical Diagnostics Manufacturers (AMDM) board of directors. This appointment recognizes Dr. Hughes’ extensive in vitro diagnostic industry experience and long track record of leadership and expertise navigating the global regulatory affairs and quality landscape.
Dr. Hughes has worked in the in vitro diagnostic, biotech, and life science industries for 20 years. Her insights and experience in global regulatory strategy and submissions, quality system management and implementation, and clinical operations for a broad range of programs and products. Dr. Hughes’ leads a seasoned team of regulatory experts who work to help clients accelerate diagnostic co(development) and commercialization, and is well versed in the collaboration and leadership needed to serve as president of the AMDM board of directors.
Prior to her appointment, Dr. Hughes has served on AMDM’s board of directors since 2009. In her new role, Dr. Hughes will lead the nonprofit trade association’s mission, which is to assist in the exchange of technical information among members of the industry, and in the formulation of, and compliance with, regulatory legislation standards and protocols. She also will be an educational resource for regulatory submissions and other compliance information related to the in vitro diagnostic industry.
